YOM HA'ATZMAUT CELEBRATING ISRAEL@75 ON APRIL 30 – MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

There will be something for everyone at United Jewish Federation of Tidewater's and Simon Family JCC's annual celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day.

Ticket bundles are ON SALE NOW. You can save time and money by purchasing ticket bundles now and picking them up on Friday, April 28 or during the event on April 30. Get tickets and learn more about what food and activities your tickets can buy HERE. 

Enjoy authentic Israeli cuisine, play Israeli games, go shopping in a Shuk, relax in a Bedouin tent and more right here in Tidewater on the Reba and Sam Sandler Family Campus. 

Build up the excitement for this celebration of Israel throughout April by competing in the "Israel@75 Challenge" (kids, teens and adults can participate). Win prizes for pickup at the celebration. The more you play, the more you win! Registration opens at the website below on April 2. The first 250 to register will receive a customized Israel@75 bucket hat!

POP UP SHABBAT: NEW HOSTS OPEN UP SEATS AT THEIR DINNER TABLE

Young Adults are invited to visit the Pop Up Shabbat website and view open seats at Shabbat tables taking place in April. Shabbat dinners are planned for Fridays, April 14 & 21. If you would like to host a Shabbat dinner for young adults, you can also do so at the website. (Hosts will be reimbursed for a portion of food costs.) 

Jake and Jessica Glasser hosted the first Shabbat dinner on Friday, March 24, and had 8 guests at their table. This program was launched by the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater's Young Adult Division, thanks to a generous gift from the Glasser Family Foundation.

EDUCATIONAL LOANS AVAILABLE FOR JEWISH STUDENTS

Did you know that JELF (Jewish Educational Loan Fund) provides interest-free, last dollar loans specifically for Jewish undergrad, graduate and vocational students who demonstrate need? Students must attend school full-time and have a permanent address in VA, FL, GA, NC, SC (excluding metro DC), but can attend any U.S. accredited school.
