AS PASSOVER NEARS, WE'RE PRAYING AND STILL RAISING FUNDS FOR UKRAINE

Thanks to your generosity, nearly $278,000 has been donated to the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater’s Ukraine Emergency Fund, including a generous match from Tidewater Jewish Foundation.  These funds are now directly assisting Ukrainians through UJFT’s overseas partners, the American-Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).

Still, Ukraine remains in crisis after six weeks of conflict with the war raging on.  Millions of Ukranians, including tens of thousands of Jews, have fled the country, and millions of others are internally displaced. The 146 Jewish Federations across North America have collectively raised have more than $43.4 million for relief efforts and will continue to work with our overseas partners to ensure that urgent relief reaches those who need it most.

Help us support the continuing and increasing needs of Ukrainians — for those isolated in the country, for those who have fled, and for those who we may welcome in our community in the coming months — through a donation to the Tidewater Ukraine Emergency Fund

YOM HA'ATZMAUT IS MAY 1: A CELEBRATION OF ISRAEL @ 74

Our community-wide, all-faiths celebration of Israel as she turns 74 is well underway. If May 1, from 12 PM - 4 PM isn't already on your calendar, make sure it is! You'll be experiencing all-things-Israel here at the Sandler Family Campus as we ring in Yom Ha'Atzmaut with this special celebration presented by Avraham & Karen Ashkenazi. This is collaborative effort between the UJFT, Simon Family JCC, partnering agencies, regional synagogues, and Strelitz International Academy.

Culinary renegades Gili and Ohad of Meat Carneval will be traveling from Tel Aviv with their team of chefs to share the flavors of Israel at the event. Their wild festival of flavor (there will be vegan options, too) is sweeping Israel, and now you can taste what the buzz is all about. Plus, you can shop for art, jewelry, and crafts at the Shuk; experience the Dead Sea spa; walk the boardwalk in Eilat, ride a camel, and so much more.
