Event Details: One cannot begin to understand the country of Israel without first understanding the map of Israel. Since declaring independence in 1948, its borders have often changed. Sometimes, Israel has gained territory; sometimes, it has withdrawn from territory. Why is the map of Israel so important, yet so misunderstood? Where does the issue of Israeli settlements fit into this picture? How does the debate about Israel’s borders affect Israeli politics and Israeli-Palestinian negotiations? Might Israel’s borders change again? Map expert and educator, Joe Perlov, President, Re:IL Regarding Israel will engage participants in an innovative, interactive program serving as a window into the various narratives at work in, what some say, is the most complicated region on earth.
FREE and open to the community with RSVP.
