Holocaust Commission Presents: A Film Screening and Discussion with Archeologist

On November 10th, join the Holocaust Commission for an extraordinary film event, as we screen The Good Nazi, at the Simon Family JCC. Stay for a post-film talk by Dr. Richard Freund, forensic archeologist on whose work the film is based. (Freund is the Bertram and Gladys Aaron Professor in Jewish Studies at Christopher Newport University.) A minimal entry fee will support Dr. Freund’s work at CNU, including restorations at many world Jewish Heritage sites. Click the button below to reserve your spot (space is limited) for the screening and discussion here at the Simon Family JCC. Watch the film trailer here.

This presentation is a partnership between the Holocaust Commission of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and Christopher Newport University. Prior to the Nov. 10 screening in Virginia Beach, CNU will host a series of educational programs on their campus, including the Virginia Holocaust Museum’s acclaimed Auschwitz exhibit

For the Nov. 7th program—a lecture by Dr. Freund, a performance by the Virginia Children's Chorus, and the world premiere of Brundibar/The Trial of God, based on the play by Elie Wiesel, the Tidewater Jewish Foundation has arranged for a bus to transport community members from the JCC to the CNU campus for the events. There will be no cost to ride the bus, but seating is limited to 45 people.  To reserve your seats call 757-594-8752.
