Bring your favorite drink and join us as Rabbi Denise Handlarski shares wisdom from her new book
Contrary to the view that intermarriage is a crisis for Judaism, The A–Z of Intermarriage reveals that intermarriage can be a force for good in the lives of Jewish families and communities. Rabbi Denise Handlarski, an intermarried rabbi, wrote The A–Z of Intermarriage as part story, part strategy, and all heart, as well as a coming together of religious source material, cultural context, and personal narrative. She shares practical tips and tools for couples and families, creating the perfect “how-to” manual for living a happy and balanced intermarried life.
Whether you are intermarried or considering intermarriage, have family or friends who are intermarried, or are simply interested in learning more about Jewish approaches to life, learning, and love, this program is for you!
Rabbi Denise is the creator and spiritual leader of the online community SecularSynagogue.com. She is also the spiritual leader of the IRL community Oraynu Congregation for Humanistic Judaism in Toronto. She serves pregnant folks and their partners/families as Jewish Doula (jewishdoula.com) and also teaches at Trent University’s School of Education. She is a mom to two great kids and a lover of good wine and bad television.
As a part of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and Simon Family JCC’s Lee and Bernard Jaffe Family Jewish Book Festival, in coordination with the Jewish Book Council, the only organization in North America whose sole purpose is the promotion of Jewish books.
