In the past few months, we have witnessed a frightening upsurge in antisemitism domestically and worldwide. This is an acceleration of an already disturbing trend spanning the past decade and more. It is urgent that we understand this challenge to Jewish safety and security—and indeed, to our existence.
This 6-week course taught by Rabbi Michael Panitz will comprehensively explore the historical and contemporary manifestations of prejudice against Jewish communities. We will see that antisemitism is not confined to one part of the political spectrum. We need to face the fact that, regardless of whether we are more at home in the conservative or in the liberal part of the political spectrum, some of our political allies for one part of our agenda are themselves partners with antisemites-- or may themselves hold antisemitic views.
